Heaven on Hanover, Ventura
I'd not be me without a big, long story to tell. Today we met with Charisma's new executive tenant. He had his wife and his little kids on the phone with him, giddy with excitement to finally be joining Daddy, who has been living out of a hotel here on the West Coast. They all can't wait to move in, and I am overjoyed our home will be lived in and loved by this family for up to three years. We owe the biggest thanks to our broker, Suzi Liu. I don't have the proper words to say about her, but I will try: Any broker could've pressed us on our offers of sale because that was in her best interests (big commission). But, she came to us with an offer that served us, her clients, the best...an offer that put us closer to our son's high school for the next three years, without needing to sell our home, a home we love. The day she got us the fantastic leasing offer, she also found us the Beachhouse rental. As you may know, commissions on leases drastically differ from a sale. All I kept thinking was - oh no - all her hard work...all that amazing marketing, down the drain, but still the offer was too good for us to pass up and we fell in love with the idea of living on the beach for a spell. What to do? But, Suzi's mindset was different. She knew, as our broker, what was best for the Gould Family, knew we are always down for adventure, but mostly "heard" our move to Ventura was a short-term plan, at least for now. She addressed every single one of our needs, and getting to live on the beach for the duration was the nice surprise we hadn't accounted for. She's also no dummy. Thanks, Suzi Liu, of Berkshire Hathaway. It was Ventura or bust for us. In the end, you nailed it and our family is back together again.
